How It All Began:

Dogtown Studio is a recording studio specializing in recording “Live Session” videos. Robby Fischer and Tito Mendoza started the Dogtown Studio Sessions in 2018, and have been going strong since then. Robby and Tito have been musicians and best friends since elementary school days, and they have been creating together for just as long.

Dogtown Studio was started for musicians, by musicians. Our role is to get in tune with your musical aesthetic and to collaborate with you to cultivate a visual aesthetic that is a natural outgrowth of it. We have a holistic view of art, and we believe that music is about more than just what you hear- it’s also about what you feel and what you see!

And we have experience when it comes to that- we’ve done over 200 Live Session videos since our outset, so we have learned about what works and what doesn’t from first-hand experience!

In 2022, Dogtown Studio was awarded an Ovation Award by the Michigan Music Alliance for outstanding contributions to the local music community. Michigan Music Alliance provided the following explanation for awarding this honor to Dogtown Studio:

About The Studio

  • We're located at 240 Front Ave SW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. On the west side of Grand Rapids.
  • We have high-end audio production hardware and software to give you studio-grade quality. Many bands have released the audio from these sessions as their own standalone EPs and have had great success doing so!
  • Our videos are far from stationary. Studies show that audience most often engage with live video when camera move around a subject dynamically. We aim for this every time to keep viewers hooked!
